A five day long Muses & Minstrels Youth Arts Camp was held in Cupids from July 5 to July 9. Children from grades 4 to 12 attended and participated. They were involved in circus art, dance, music making, theatre, and a variety of other exciting activities, while exploring the history of Cupids. “A Crowd of Bold Sharemen” and Wren Music from Devon, assisted by Andrew Mercer, helped the children with their music skills.
Andrew Draskoy conducted two sessions on 17th Century Dance during Muses & Minstrels. Andrew is well known to scholars for research on Renaissance dance. He has taught classes and produced shows based on Reinaissance dance. He conducted two hour workshops on the dance, music and song of the early 17th century in Heart’s Content and at the Cupids Legacy Centre.

Servant of Two Masters by the Italian dramatist Carlo Goldoni is being produced for Cupids 400 by Beni Malone and Wonderbolt Productions as part of the Muses and Minstrels Festival of Early Performing Arts. The play is being performed in five communities on the Baccalieu Trail. The servant Truffaldino, lies his way through a day of near disasters, as he attends his two masters—without either knowing! His reward? A hearty meal, some extra pocket change, and the satisfaction of outsmarting his “betters.”
