Cupids 400 Unveiling Legacy Storyboards in Bay Roberts.

Posted by Crout On July - 29 - 2010

Why is it called the Klondyke?, originally uploaded by eracose.

As one of its Legacy Projects, Cupids 400 assisted the town of Bay Roberts with funding a series of 10 Legacy Signs in the town. On July 28th, John Guy and Cathy Kleinwort of the Cupids 400 Board of Directors assisted Bay Roberts Mayor Glen Littlejohn to unveil the first sign. When the series is complete, it will form an informal walking trail around the town.

The first legacy storyboard is located on the Klondyke Causeway which joins Bay Roberts to Coley’s Point (which is also part of the municipality.) It was built in 1898.

The storyboard details how and why it was built, as well as how it got its name with the interesting spelling.

About Me

Henry Crout, one of John Guy\'s Colonists is the avatar for Cupids Cove Chatter. The hand represents his journal writing. Although a number of people including John Guy and Sir Percival Willoughby recorded information about the first English colony in Canada, Henry Crout recorded what was happening on the ground. We hope this blog will introduce and describe events from an - on the ground - perspective. We hope to have guest bloggers who will add their descriptions and opinions.
